HOPE RISES WITH EVERY
INTERACTION

Adopt a Home

For Renew Communities & Matthew Homes

Purpose: Engage community partners, businesses, churches, civic groups, and individuals in sponsoring and serving alongside our home construction and rehabilitation projects—creating ownership, impact, and ongoing relationships.

Program Vision

Vision:

Transform communities one home at a time by connecting sponsors directly to the families and projects they support.

Objectives:

  • Raise dedicated funding for individual home projects

  • Involve sponsors in hands-on volunteer opportunities from beginning to end and beyond

  • Build long-term relationships that encourage repeat participation and impact families beyond just the home

  • Increase community pride and visibility for the mission

How It Works

1. Select a Home

  • Renew Communities & Matthew Homes goal is to build and rehabilitate ten (10) homes a year in North Chicago, prioritizing projects that will have the greatest impact on the family and neighborhood.

  • Sponsors are matched to a home that aligns with their interests, capacity, and desired level of involvement.

  • Sponsors receive a home profile packet including photos, a project scope outline, and a “meet the family” story (if the family chooses to participate).

2. Financial Opportunity

   Full Sponsorship – $75,000 (Rehab) / $125,000 (New Build)

  • Covers the entire project from start to finish for a new build home.

   Partial Sponsorship – $5,000–$50,000

  • Allows sponsors to underwrite specific phases of the project (roof replacement, kitchen renovation, plumbing, landscaping, etc.)

3. Volunteer Involvement

  • Hands-on volunteer opportunities alongside experienced Tradesmen and Volunteer Captains

  • Flexible schedules: mid-week, Saturday, full-day, multi-day, or single shifts

  • Direct interaction with families and neighborhoods

4. Recognition & Storytelling

  • On-site signage, social media updates, press releases

  • Post-project impact story with photos and thank-you notes from families

5. Ongoing Engagement

  • Invitations to future projects

  • Annual sponsor appreciation events

  • Long-term updates on adopted homes

Sponsor Groups

  • Local Businesses & Corporations

  • Churches & Faith Communities

  • Civic Clubs (Rotary, Lions, etc.)

  • Military & Veteran Organizations

  • Schools & Alumni Groups

  • Individual Philanthropists
